The Role:
Lead and continuously enhance the Group’s shared finance services, ensuring accurate, timely, and well-controlled processing across accounts payable, billing, cashiering, and transactional finance. You will be accountable for the integrity of day-to-day financial operations, maintaining robust controls, scalable processes, and high service standards that support both Group Reporting and Operational Finance. This is a pivotal role at the heart of financial control and execution, providing the foundation for effective cash management and operational insight.
This is a part time role working 4 days per week - 30 hours
The position is hybrid working onsite in Oxford 2/3 days per week
We are able to offer some flexibility on these timings for the successful candidate if required.
The Location:
Oxford Fertility was established in 1992 and is one of the UK’s longest standing and largest IVF clinics. Due to the passion, expertise and reputation of our team, the clinic has grown into a leading fertility clinic and offers a full suite of treatment and diagnostic services, including PGT and IVM. Providing treatment to both NHS and private patients. Conveniently located in a business park setting on the outskirts of Oxford, close to junction 8a of the M40, there is ample free parking for staff and patients around the building.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, develop, and manage the Shared Finance Services team across Accounts Payable, Billing, Cashiering, and transactional finance
Set clear objectives, responsibilities, and performance expectations to drive accountability and high performance
Build a resilient, well-controlled team with strong segregation of duties, cover, and documented processes
Foster a service-oriented culture with clear SLAs and strong stakeholder relationships
Oversee end-to-end transactional finance processes, including accounts payable, billing, cash allocation, and banking activity
Ensure all transactions are accurate, complete, timely, and supported by robust audit trails and controls
Act as the first line of defence for financial control, maintaining compliance with Group policies
Take ownership of month-end close outputs, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality data for reporting
Ensure all key reconciliations are completed, reviewed, and issues resolved promptly
Drive process improvement by standardising, documenting, and automating finance processes to improve efficiency and scalability
Strengthen cash control and working capital through disciplined billing, collections, and payment processes, partnering with Treasury and Group Finance
Lead audit and compliance activity, ensuring readiness, strong documentation, risk mitigation, and effective stakeholder communication

Job requirements
Experience and Qualifications:
Essential:
Qualified accountant or equivalent strong experience in transactional finance leadership
Proven experience running shared finance services or similar function
Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and audit requirements
Experience leading and developing multi‑disciplinary finance teams
Highly organised, detail‑driven and control‑focused ·
Calm, disciplined and delivery‑focused
Clear on ownership and accountability
Pragmatic problem‑solver with a strong control mindset
Collaborative, but willing to challenge when standards are at risk
Desirable:
Experience in multi‑entity or group environments
Experience with system implementations or finance transformation
Healthcare or regulated environmental exposure
Knowledge of Navision
Salary: Competitive (Depending on experience)
Location: TFP Oxford Fertility
Working Hours: 30
Hours of work: 09.00 – 17.00
Hybrid working: 2/3 days per week on-site in Oxford
Pension: Dual contribution pension scheme
Holiday Entitlement: 27 Days + Bank holidays (pro rata)
