The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Fertility Specialist/Consultant to join our busy clinic in Southampton. We are excited to be able to welcome a new team member to the clinic. You will be a skilled professional with experience or have an interest in developing skills in assisted conception and have the desire to be part of the largest provider of IVF in the UK.
The post holder must have a full GMC registration and will work with the other doctors within the clinic. The post holder is responsible for delivering and maintaining the highest standard of clinical and patient care in accordance with HF&E Act 2008 and the current HFEA Code of Practice.
We are open to considering both full-time and part-time arrangements for the right candidate
The Location:
Wessex Fertility was established in 1992 and is one of the UK’s longest standing IVF clinics. Due to the passion, expertise and reputation of our team, the clinic has grown into a leading fertility clinic and offers a full suite of treatment and diagnostic services, specialising PGT. Providing treatment to both NHS and private patients, Wessex Fertility performs approximately 500 fresh cycles and 500 frozen cycles per year. Conveniently located to the East of Southampton, a short distance from junction 7 of the M27, there is ample free parking for staff and patients around the building.

This provides a relaxing but professional environment for our patients and staff and means the clinic can continue to grow in the coming years. Our brand-new facility is equipped with state of the art equipment and monitoring systems that support us in achieving excellent outcome KPI’s. Wessex Fertility also has a 5/5 inspection rating from the HFEA and excellent 5/5 patient review scores on HFEA with the highest google rating of any clinic in the South.
Key Responsibilities:
· Egg collections
· Embryo transfer lists
· Conducting Consultations
· HyCoSy & Saline procedures
· Work closely with medical, nursing and other colleagues to offer the highest level of patient care
· Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary fertility team
· SSR procedures desirable but not essential
The above will be reviewed as required, in consultation with the post holder. It is offered as a guide to the key responsibilities and duties, but does not preclude other projects that may arise as the organisation evolves.

Job requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
· Full GMC Registration and inclusion on the Specialist Register
· High Diploma (Fellowship or Membership) of Speciality College MRCOG or equivalent
· Experience in Gynecology or Fertility
· Effective communication skills regarding medical topics with both patients and colleagues
· Patient focused attitude
· Minimum of 2 - 5 years clinical experience working as a Consultant, Fellow or Doctor
· An understanding of the biology and scientific evidence underpinning clinical practice
· Strong knowledge of the HFEA Code of Conduct
· An understanding of the work of related disciplines
· An appropriate level of supervision and management skills
· An understanding of prevailing legislation
· An understanding of, and ability to apply, quality assurance and monitoring of clinical performance
Salary: Competitive (Depending on experience)
