The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a trained Andrologist to join our team of highly skilled and dedicated scientists. As well as providing a significant contribution to the andrology laboratory clinical workload, the successful candidate will have opportunities to be involved in training junior andrologists, internal quality control/assurance, donor recruitment, organising donor sperm imports/exports and supporting in the management of cryopreserved sperm samples.
This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week - weekend rotation will be required at approximately 1:4
The Location:
Oxford Fertility was established in 1992 and is one of the UK’s longest standing and largest IVF clinics. Due to the passion, expertise and reputation of our team, the clinic has grown into a leading fertility clinic and offers a full suite of treatment and diagnostic services, including PGT. Providing treatment to both NHS and private patients, Oxford Fertility performs approximately 1000 fresh cycles and 1000 frozen cycles per year. Conveniently located in a business park situated on the outskirts of Oxford, close to junction 8a of the M40, there is ample free parking for patients and staff around the building. Our state-of-the-art laboratory was purpose built in 2010 and is equipped with the latest equipment and monitoring systems that support us in achieving excellent outcome KPI’s. Oxford Fertility also has a 5/5 inspection rating from the HFEA.
Key Responsibilities:
Performing semen analysis, sperm freezing and sperm preparation for treatment
Communicating with patients about treatment options, results & appointments
Taking effective consent from patients/donors
Performing quality control and participating in quality assurance
Monitoring/maintaining consumables and equipment
Assisting with the donor recruitment process, imports/exports and management of stored gametes
Assisting in training and induction of new and junior staff
Compliance to the UK Regulatory Framework
Job requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of A-Levels or equivalent, preferably a degree in Life Sciences
Minimum of 1 year of andrology experience
Fully trained in semen analysis, sperm freezing, sperm preparation for treatment, quality control, taking patient consent and equipment maintenance.
Good manual dexterity skills
Must be self-motivated, eager to learn and have excellent time management skills.
High level of attention to detailed and focused
Resilient and hard working
Excellent communication skills
Salary: Competitive (Depending on experience)

Working Hours: 37.5 Monday to Friday
Weekend Working at approximately a 1:4
Pension: Dual contribution pension scheme
